Our test kitchen is shared with innovative chefs and bakers to ensure that creativity is constantly flowing through our doors. We spend our time around people who care about what they eat, how it’s produced, and who produces it, and we know that our customers do too. Family First – The Beetnik family may be rooted in our east Austin bungalow headquarters, but our family extends to our farm and ranch partners, to our manufacturing facilities and the people they employ, to the owners and employees who run the local shops that carry our products, and to the like-minded folks that encourage and support us every time they invite us into their life by taking a moment to enjoy a wholesome Beetnik meal.
Simple Ingredients – Our food philosophy is as simple as the ingredients that we use. Great food comes from great ingredients. That’s why we started by investing in some of the best local farmers and ranchers in central Texas and why we source only the best ingredients from around the globe. That’s why our foods never contain MSG, high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and flavorings, hormones, or antibiotics. That’s why we freeze our food so that we never have to use preservatives or shelf stabilizers. That’s why we avoid glutens so that our meals can be enjoyed by the growing number of people with dietary restrictions and food allergies. Most importantly, that’s why we go the extra step to ensure that all of our meals are certified USDA Organic, so that you never have to read a Beetnik label to know that you’re getting nothing but the unadulterated goodness that only nature can provide.
Accountability – We believe in doing things right for our planet, for ourselves, and for future generations. We only do business with people who are passionate about their products, their people, and the environment – fellow Beetniks. We only work with organically and ethically raised animals. Our retail packaging is 100% recyclable and our sleeve is not only made of recycled material but is designed to use less material than conventional frozen food packaging. We work hard to ensure that with Beetnik, you’ll never have to sacrifice your conscience to satisfy your hunger.
What can’t you say about David? From Cordon Bleu Paris all-star to reigning start up maverick, he truly is a man of many talents. David loves spending time with his family and being a dedicated chef. Not only does he bring years of culinary excellence, David is the unrelenting source for all laughter around the bungalow. In his past life he must have been a comic.
Our financial watchdog, Rhonda has been in Austin for twenty years and worked in accounting for over fifteen years. She keeps the loose ends tied in the office and at home with her husband and two boys.
Meaghan ensures that things run smoothly. She studied international affairs and international economics at George Washington University before spending 3 years working with the Change to Win organization in New York.
Working mostly from home to keep up with her busy children, Kim is a motivated mother and wife. She effortlessly fulfills her daily goal of being the best role model she can be to her two young daughters. Beetnik is the perfect fit for Kim to apply her motherly undertaking of delivering delicious and wholesome meals with love. Kim enjoys being active- playing volleyball and competing in a softball league.
Tactician of marketing, Rustin hails from a long line of marketing excellence, previously earning his stripes at White Glove Technologies (now MindShift) as a web designer, art director and finally as the marketing manager. He enjoys composing and producing music, riding his chopper, Texas Longhorn football and camping with his wife.
Allison has been a lover of nutrition since… well forever. She is a world traveler and obtained her nutrition credentials at Tufts Friedman. Away from Beetnik, personal chef Allison loves the opportunity to cook for families, bringing healthy, delicious foods to their tables every week! Outside of cooking, you can find Allison enjoying nature: hiking, paddle boarding or simply sitting on her patio to watch the bats!
With a background in business management, for nearly four years Bron has been staying on top of menu trends across the country. When not working, he is a self-proclaimed local food connoisseur and football enthusiast. A native of Austin, Bron is a competitive bingo player, enjoys running on Town Lake, and nine times out of ten is listening to The War on Drugs.
A graduate of UC Berkeley, Tamara has a background in independent media production and illustration. From swimming in Barton Springs to hunting for the perfect breakfast taco, chances are she's Instagramming about it. She spends her time at Beetnik managing our social media, writing articles and photographing dishes for our blog. Her favorite pastimes include eating those photographed dishes, drawing comics and reading feminist sci-fi novels.
Born in Montreal and raised in Austin, Michael is easily the best athlete in the office. He attended the University of A&M at Corpus Christi where he played baseball and studied finance and accounting as well as philosophy (Food Ethics). Most of his spare time is spent on Lake Austin wakesurfing and shaping surfboards. He enjoys long walks on the pavement next to the beach, and truly believes that he is best dressed in the office.
A born and raised Austinite, Teal loves this city. With an extensive background in sales, communication, and marketing, she has partnered with Beetnik to expand and support our retail sales channel. After overcoming a major health crisis in her early twenties, she developed a passion for healthy living. She stands behind the message that food has a social, political, economical, and nutritional impact that can drastically impact our lives.
Courtney spends her time at Beetnik writing blog posts and press releases, editing grammar blunders, eating test products, and petting Beetnik’s unofficial mascot, Fenway. She attends New York University, where she studies screenwriting, writes and performs with her sketch comedy group, and sings in an a capella group. In her spare time, she binge-watches Netflix, plays online Sudoku, and makes snarky comments.
Our renovated office reflects the same two priorities visible in our name and in our carefully crafted meals: our natural roots, and our belief in creative twists on trusted favorites. Nestled comfortably on East Cesar Chavez, our office resides in one of Austin’s most artistic neighborhoods. Our bungalow houses a team eager to provide patrons with inventive and wholesome meals. We develop thoughtful cooking methods at our in-house test kitchen, which features the latest convectional ovens, mixers, and an 8x10 walk-in freezer. This cutting-edge technology was designed with users in mind in order to deliver products truly made from having fun (and maybe the insight of our Cordon Bleu chef).
