When our chef initially tweeted photos of this dish, we couldn’t stop thinking about it. Just look at that chicken wing! We daydreamed all morning about the caramelized honey and the sticky crispy skin. We found ourselves hours later, washing dishes and thinking, “I need to make that chicken.” But once we got the recipe, we were confused. Really? That’s all you needed to make the delicious chicken of our dreams!? We have all those things in the cupboard! So whatever it is, stop what you’re doing and make this chicken!
- 4 oz honey
- 3 oz soy sauce (sub tamari sauce for gluten free option)
- ¼ cup of minced ginger
- 2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 organic chicken
Preheat oven to 350f. Combine first four ingredients in a small saucepan and cook until honey is melted. Baste chicken with the honey mixture, and roast for 30 minutes. Baste and continue cooking for another 30 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken is 165f. Remove from oven, and let the chicken rest 10 minutes before carving. Reserve the sauce and serve with the chicken.
