Nobody wants to run the store for sugar on Christmas morning, so the next time you head to the store, keep this list handy and be prepared!
Baking Essentials Checklist
Gluten Free all Purpose Flour
An absolute essential. Thankfully, our gluten free blend can be used as an excellent substitute for regular flour. We love the notes of almond flour and the nuttiness of this flour.
Organic Vanilla Extract
Another essential, we keep vanilla on hand for a number of recipes and holistic remedies. It can perk up your batter, add a hint of vanilla to your coffee and more.
Baking Powder + Soda
Both are leavening agents, which cause the batter to rise. Keep both on hand and whatever you do, don’t mix them up!
We prefer unsalted, as it is a bit sweeter than salted butter, and you can control the salt that you add to the recipe. We suggest chopping your cold butter before melting or adding to recipes.
Eggs & Egg Substitutes
If eggs aren’t you’re thing, there are plenty of egg substitutes out there – some may even already be in your pantry. Canned pumpkin, applesauce and tofu are all excellent subs and should be used according to the recipe.
Instand recipe booster! The addition of chopped walnuts or pecans will take your baked goods from basic to outstanding!
Like nuts, well selected spices can really elevate your baking. Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves are excellent choices and should be kept in a cool, dark spot in your pantry.
Brown sugar, confectioners’ sugar, and granulated sugar – these are all essential for different stages of your recipe (frosting and whipped creams), so keep them on hand.
