While we love dyeing Easter eggs and hunting for chocolate in our backyard, we know where our true Easter loyalties lie:the ham. Oh, the ham! From the mouth-watering aroma while it bakes in the oven to the first steamy slice – we just can’t get enough of it. We find ourselves looking forward to the leftovers due to the sheer fact that there’s just SO MUCH left over! We use it on pizza, in sandwiches, tacos, the list goes on. Here are two of our go-to Easter ham leftover recipes:
A Quick Brown Sugar and Spicy Mustard Glaze
- Beetnik Ham
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp spicy brown mustard
- 1 Tbsp pineapple juice
Mix together all ingredients.
Baste over ham the last 45 minutes of baking. If you have an extra pineapple lying around, grill for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Remember our tried and true gluten free pizza crust? We whipped up it up and added some leftover ham. Spread 1/4 to 1/2 cup pizza sauce to taste and lay 5-6 slices of provolone cheese over the crust. Chop up 1/3 cup of the Easter ham and 1/3 cup chopped pineapple and add to the pizza. If you’re feeling festive add 2 tbsp of finely chopped tri-colored peppers! Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 min
