Meatballs make a delicious meal or snack, and are a staple of many family dishes. You might even remember growing up with mom’s or grandma’s meatballs on the table — old family recipes often taste the most delicious.
A great thing about meatballs is that they are so versatile — you can whip them up in a spaghetti sauce over noodles, serve them in a spicy soup, include them in a veggie bowl, or smother them in a sweet sauce — there is no end to what you can do with them!
It’s also easy to make sure your meatballs are healthy and good for you. They are traditionally made with breadcrumbs but you can also use almond flour as an alternative — it keeps the texture light and it tastes delicious! You should also be sure to use American grass-fed ground beef in order to make sure it’s tasty and Paleo-compliant.

Healthy Beef Meatball Recipe
- 1.75 lbs of American grass fed ground beef
- ½ cup of almond flour (almond flour is simply ground almonds)
- ¼ cup of water
- 2 eggs
- ½ onion, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp fennel seed, ground
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp anise, ground
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
To make meatballs, just mix all of these ingredients into a large mixing bowl and use your hands to knead the spices into the meat. Form the meat into 1-ounce meatballs and bake at 350F for 15 to 20 minutes. And voila! You’ll have perfect healthy meatballs that are ready to eat — and only about 25 calories per meatball!

How to Dress Up Your Grass-Fed Beef Meatballs
Once the organic meatballs are ready, you can prepare them using one of these ideas:
Classic Pasta and Meatballs
Spaghetti and meatballs in a red sauce is an old traditional favorite, but you can also try adding meatballs to a rich, cheesy Mac n’ Cheese dish — just sprinkle some Parmesan and Italian spices over the top. For an Asian flair, add meatballs to noodle salad dishes or bake them in a zesty Teriyaki sauce.
Healthy Meatball Soups
Meatballs are also great when you pop them in a warm and savory soup! Italian wedding soup, classic minestrone, hearty tomato vegetable — they could all benefit from the addition of organic meatballs! Just heat up the soup and then add your meatballs after they’ve thoroughly baked in the oven.
Grass-Fed Beef Meatball Appetizers
Organic meatballs make a great party or dinner gathering treat, especially if you have frozen organic meatballs to pop in the oven and heat up without a fuss! Meatballs taste great in a spicy curry sauce, BBQ sauce or with a soy glaze — just serve them on a platter with a cup of toothpicks to keep your guests satisfied until dinner!
Organic Meatball Sandwiches
Meatball subs aren’t just for game day! You can use organic meatballs to put together a classic meatball Parmesan sub or get fancy and add in melted mozzarella, basil tomato sauce, sauteed mushrooms or even a melted blue cheese spread.
