Grilled New York Strip Steak with Balsamic Reduction

A steakhouse favorite, the New York strip steak is one of our favorite cuts to prepare at home. It has a tight, light flavor and the perfect amount of marbling. It’s incredibly simple to prepare, too! Simply set a pan on med-high heat, season the room temperature steaks with salt, pepper and olive oil and then grill for 2-3 minutes on each side. After four to six minutes total cooking time, place the skillet in a 425°F oven for about 3-4 minutes. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer: 145°F – medium rare, 160°F – medium and 170°F – well done. Let rest before slicing and serving.

While your steak is cooking, we recommend adding 5oz of balsamic vinegar to a small sauce pan. Cook on low heat until it reduces to half its original volume. Drizzle over the steak or use as a dipping sauce!
