From tangy to tart, this glaze has a special place in our recipe book. Known for it’s sweet and red flesh, the Texas grapefruit lends a perky and pleasantly bitter taste to our organic chicken. Simple to whip up, easy to throw on a grill AND full of complex flavors? We’re in!
- 2 Beetnik Organic Chicken Breasts
- 1/2 cup grapefruit juice (from a grapefruit)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp organic honey
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Light your grill. Juice the grapefruit and combine the juice with olive oil, organic honey, salt, pepper and garlic. Mix well.
Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper and a touch of oil. Place on the grill for 2 minutes. Flip over for another two minutes. Now that you’re 4 minutes in, generously begin to brush the grapefruit liquid onto the chicken. Flip over once more and continue to brush the liquid over the chicken. Once it reaches an internal temperature hits 165. Remove from heat.
Place the remaining glaze in a small saucepan and bring to a boil for about 1-2 minutes. Pour over the chicken and serve immediately.
