Made up of just 3 basic, on hand ingredients, this dish was a delightful surprise! We found ourselves amazed by how the rich garlicky flavor melded with the fresh, aromatic thyme. This dish not only had people coming out of the woodwork for dinner (“What’s that smell? Can I have some?), it also had them in shock over how simple it was to put together.
- 2 Beetnik steaks of your choice (this works well with ribeyes, NY strip steak and tenderloins)
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- about 3 tbsps of fresh thyme leaves (this is about 18 springs)
- salt and pepper to season
- 2-3 tbsps olive oil
Choose a glass container large enough for your steaks. Combine oil, garlic, thyme. Add the steaks and coat them with the mixture. Cover and let sit in refrigerator for up to an hour, if not overnight.
Once ready, remove steaks from the container and season with salt and pepper. Discard the excess marinade. Place steak on the grill or pan and cook over medium high heat for 3 minutes and flip. Cook until desired doneness is reached.
